FAQ
How does the Sync Tool work?
The Sync Tool automates file synchronization between a source and destination. You can set up one-way or two-way sync jobs, allowing files to be copied, updated, or mirrored based on your schedule. It supports both local storage and Google Drive, ensuring your files stay updated without manual intervention.
Can I sync multiple jobs at the same time?
Yes! The Sync Tool allows you to schedule multiple sync jobs and run them simultaneously. You can also select multiple jobs using checkboxes to start, stop, or delete them at once for better control.
One-Way Sync and Two-Way Sync?
- One-Way Sync: Copies files from source → destination but does not modify the source. Useful for backups.
- Two-Way Sync: Keeps both source and destination identical, syncing changes in both directions. This is ideal when both locations need to be updated.
(Note: Two-Way Sync is only supported for local destinations.)
What happens if I delete a file in the source or destination?
- One-Way Sync: If a file is deleted in the source, it remains in the destination unless manually removed.
- Two-Way Sync: If a file is deleted in one location, it is also deleted in the other during the next sync cycle.
(Note: Automatic deletion behavior depends on your sync settings.)
Does the Sync Tool work in the background? Can I close the app?
Yes, the Sync Tool runs in the background while syncing. However, if you close the app, scheduled sync jobs will stop. To ensure continuous synchronization, keep the app open or run it in minimized mode.
